Nearly 760,000 children across New Jersey could soon be eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine. The Food and Drug Administration approved Pfizer’s shot for children ages 5 to 11 last week, with kids in that age group to get one-third of the dose given to adults. If the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gives the green light after its review Tuesday and Wednesday, younger children could begin getting their first dose before the end of the week.

Zachary Wagman, whose three children were in a Pfizer pediatric trial at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, is thrilled about the possibility. “I want them to be vaccinated so that they can we return to normal life,” he said.
