Across the world, countries are coordinating relief efforts for Ukraine amid the invasion by Russia. An emergency appeal for $1.7 billion was launched by the U.N. to urgently deliver essential needs to those still in Ukraine and to refugees who have fled to neighboring countries.
As the Russian attack on Ukraine intensifies, Ukrainians in New Jersey are calling for support — in particular a no-fly zone. A rally in Jersey City brought together members of the Ukrainian community who shared stories about their loved ones.
Gov. Phil Murphy attended a vigil Monday night at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Memorial Church in Franklin Township, where a large crowd gathered to pray and call for an end to the war. Murphy said he stood with New Jersey’s 75,000 Ukrainian residents.
