State leaders are warning the next few months will need to be closely watched as New Jersey again hits record high levels of new daily coronavirus cases. Wednesday 3,078 new positive tests were reported by the Department of Health. The administration says residents should expect to see the daily total hover around that mark for some time. The cumulative number of positive cases in New Jersey is now 263,495. With 15 additional deaths, there are now 16,476 probable and confirmed fatalities since the start of the pandemic.

Nearly the entire country is on New Jersey’s coronavirus quarantine travel advisory list. Maine and New Hampshire were added Tuesday, expanding the list to 45 states and territories from which Gov. Phil Murphy is asking travelers to self-quarantine for two weeks. Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut meet the criteria for the travel ban but haven’t been included on the map. Murphy says they’re too closely connected to the state to make a ban reasonable.
