New Jersey voters in 2017 approved $125 million in states bonds for technology updates and building improvements to public libraries. The first round of grants under the Library Construction Bond Act was distributed in 2020 and the second just last month for a total of 70 projects across the state.

Among the grant recipients was the Roselle Public Library. It was granted $5.5 million, which library director Jeanne Marie Ryan said “is a game-changer for this community.” In addition to renovations and upgrades to technology, the library will also increase its usable public space by 15,000 square feet.
