Last week, students from Hopewell Valley Central High School traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with advocates and elected officials like Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-12th) and Frank Pallone (D-6th), to address an issue they see as disproportionately impacting their generation: climate change and its impact on mental health.

They joined others from the group Schools for Climate Action, a “non-partisan, grassroots, youth-adult campaign with a mission to empower schools to speak up for climate action.”

We caught up with Lucy Webster and Ben Pollara, two junior students at Hopewell Valley Central High School, who were at the Washington rally.
