NJ Advance Media will be closing its bureau in Washington, D.C. next week after firing its ace reporter Jonathan Salant. With that, no New Jersey reporters will be covering the state’s congressional delegation.

Members of Congress from across the state as well as Gov. Phil Murphy denounced the leadership of NJ Advance Media for the decision to close the bureau and create a bigger news desert for the Garden State.

Salant spoke with NJ Spotlight News about his tireless years on the job and what happens when the stories that should be told are not.
