Netflix is coming to New Jersey. The on-demand video streaming company will develop a state-of-the-art East Coast production facility on the former Fort Monmouth campus. Netflix and Gov. Phil Murphy announced the plan late Wednesday.
Netflix is to invest $903 million in the facility, which will include 12 soundstages totaling almost 500,000 square feet.
According to Netflix, 3,500 workers will be employed during construction. And, once built, the facility is slated to create anywhere from 1,400 to 2,000 permanent production positions. An opening date for the facility has not been announced.
