From price gouging to fake disaster-relief charities, the state attorney general’s office says scammers are out there waiting to prey on innocent victims of Tropical Storm Ida. Times of crisis are just another opportunity for shameless actors to take advantage of the vulnerable. Top law enforcement leaders vow to crack down on anyone gaming the system, but they’re asking the public to be on the lookout for fraud and have tips on how to avoid it.
