The implosion of the iconic Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn scheduled for April 15 has been postponed. According to officials, there were issues with permits but the delay also comes amid growing concerns among local residents about potential contamination of air, water and soil following the implosion. Officials have not announced a new date for the implosion.
Glen Rock public schools had also announced their buildings would be closed the Monday after the implosion, over worries about the health and safety of students and staff.
Demolition of the Nabisco plant started last fall, ending a 60-year run at the site.
