First lady Jill Biden and U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona visited Bergen Community College on Thursday, where a child care program funded under the American Rescue Plan is operating and to highlight one aim of the American Rescue Plan — to address barriers to education, like housing and food insecurity, many which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
An additional $198 million in American Rescue Plan funds will be awarded to colleges and universities in the spring.
