As many as 500 office buildings, schools, PATH stations, landmarks, and even the Prudential Center could be without cleaners and custodial services if no contract is reached by the new year between contracting companies and the nearly 7,000 janitors they employ. Some of the top issues at play in the negotiations are wages and insurance.
Correspondent Michael Hill spoke with Ederle Vaughn, a cleaner at Prudential Center who also serves on the negotiating committee, as workers marched in Newark on Tuesday evening.
