As we honor the contributions of Black people in America during Black History Month, we take on the topic of racism and whether the northern part of the country has any claim to being “less racist” than the South.

It’s an issue that Imani Perry, Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University, addresses in her new book, “South to America: The Journey Below the Mason-Dixon to Understand the Soul of a Nation.”
