Gov. Phil Murphy has been hesitant to comment on another round of lockdowns or restrictions to stave off a second wave of the coronavirus. It’s unclear what the state’s next steps will be. Hot-spot teams have been sent to areas with rising case loads, including towns and college campuses. In Jersey City, the mayor is mailing out masks to all 120,000 households to try to help slow the spread of the virus. But, predictive models are still too preliminary to indicate how hard this round of infections will hit.
Dr. Judith Lightfoot, chief of infectious disease at Rowan University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine, says the trend of increasing cases needs to be taken seriously. She joined Anchor Briana Vannozzi to explain.
