With the state’s fiscal picture looking better than expected, essential immigrant workers want lawmakers to set aside some of the state’s allotment of federal COVID-19 relief money for undocumented workers and their families. Rallying outside the State House Annex Wednesday at the start of a multi-day fast, they said New Jersey’s roughly half million undocumented families have been left out of relief aid.
The state is getting ready to receive about $6 billion in its share of the federal government’s recently enacted American Rescue Plan Act.
