Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman has tested positive for the coronavirus after being exposed while in lockdown during last week’s deadly riot by pro-Trump extremists at the Capitol. Monday night she said in a tweet that while she feels OK with mild symptoms, she is going to a hospital to undergo antibody treatment on her doctor’s recommendation.
Last weekend, New Jersey’s National Guard deployed 500 soldiers and airmen to aid thousands of others providing security in Washington. Those citizen soldiers will remain in the city at least until the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
