Disruptions caused by the pandemic are ongoing, but this week the New Jersey Economic Development Authority began taking applications for a new grant program that will give up to $300,000 apiece in relief aid to for-profit venues and businesses that host, produce, or manage live events and performances.

John Costello, the EDA’s program manager who led the team creating this Community Stage Grant, discusses who’s eligible and how the program works.

“This sector — the arts and culture sector — we want to make sure that they’re able to survive and thrive throughout the COVID pandemic. These are the places that make New Jersey the place that people want to live, work and play,” Costello said.
