As fewer people across the country apply to become police officers, some law enforcement agencies from other states are hoping to find their next recruits in New Jersey. Alpharetta, Georgia’s police department is holding a recruitment event at Hasbrouck Heights High School this week. Candidates who successfully complete the process could be invited to join the force within the next couple of months.
“This is the first time we’ve tried this. We advertise nationally but this is the first time and first place we’ve actually come here physically,” said John Robison, Alpharetta police chief and director of public safety.
