Frustrated by MVC delays, residents hope new program will speed up service

Along with all the necessary paperwork, patience is what Motor Vehicle Commission officials are seeking from New Jersey residents. With teens and other would-be drivers finding it nearly impossible to schedule an appointment to get their license, the agency attributes the problem to unusually high demand coupled with staffing shortages related to COVID-19.

The MVC is hopeful that two mobile units, now being used in a test pilot program, will deliver more appointments for new drivers and help to smooth out the appointment traffic.
