The first phase in the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s grant program focusing on equity was announced Tuesday.

“We are a family minority and women-owned business, said grant recipient Francesca DeRogatis, of Nightjar Holdings. “We’re passionate about normalizing the plant and building a diverse and vibrant cannabis industry.”

Nightjar is expected to be open to the public by the end of the year. The cannabis dispensary in Bloomfield is one of 48 businesses awarded cannabis equity grants totaling $250,000.

Members of the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission say the grants are proof of the state’s continued commitment to providing meaningful opportunities to all cannabis businesses. The application period for the second phase of the cannabis equity grant program will open next month.
