Family planning advocates met Thursday in Trenton with Admiral Rachel Levine, Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, who pledged to uphold funds and resources from the federal government so New Jersey can continue meeting the growing demand for reproductive health care, including abortions as more people from out of state turn to New Jersey for help.

“At HHS we have an unwavering commitment to protecting access to reproductive health care including abortion care, no matter who you are and where you live,” said Levine, who hosted a roundtable discussion with family planning providers at the Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey health care center in Trenton. Levine added that, “Women throughout the country are going to look for abortion access and they’re going to come to New Jersey, they’re going to come to your programs.”
