New Jersey health officials are looking at newly-revised federal guidelines that would greatly expand visits at long-term care facilities. With more than 70% of long-term care residents vaccinated, advocates have been pushing for increased visits — to end the punishing isolation caused by the COVID-19-related lockdowns. The state must now decide whether to follow the new guidelines (it has, in the past). But any revisions will come too late for one grieving family.
