Black Lives Matter demonstrations in New Jersey have been largely peaceful, but a rally in Englewood Cliffs last month has been getting a lot of attention after 18-year-old Emily Gil organized an event and promptly received a bill from the town for $2,500. The mayor has since rescinded the fee, which was going to cover police overtime. He says it’s part of the town’s protocol to bill event organizers for any costs incurred. Gil is calling it an intimidation tactic.
