The midterm elections are less than a month away; if you’re not registered to vote, you have until Tuesday, Oct. 18 to do so.
In the final weeks of campaigning, candidates are drilling down into the issues that they hope will stoke their base. From inflation to abortion, campaigns are hitting the issues they hope will send voters to the polls.
Ashley Koning, director of the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers University, discusses the new Rutgers Eagleton Poll that looks at the hot-button issues. It found the main issues for New Jersey voters to be the economy, reproductive rights, taxes, partisan issues and inflation.
“No matter how important voters say these issues are, it really depends on which side of the aisle mobilizes the most voters in their party base and the voters in the middle,” Koning said.
