The first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine for a resident of a New Jersey nursing home was administered on Dec. 28. The program is not state-run but is a federally-organized partnership that has tasked two major pharmacy chains — CVS and Walgreens — with scheduling and administering vaccinations for the state’s more than 1,500 long-term care facilities.
Gov. Phil Murphy has been increasingly critical of the program that has left more than 160,000 doses unused as of Tuesday. As Senior Correspondent Brenda Flanagan reports, frustration is building.
