The superseding indictment filed last week against U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), charged him with acting as a foreign agent of the Egyptian government. The filing laid out new details of the alleged bribery scheme that saw the senator push through arms deals for the Egyptians, with his wife Nadine and associate Wael Hana allegedly acting as intermediaries.
Meanwhile, newly released records from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office shed more light on the investigation into a 2018 fatal crash in Bogota, where Nadine Menendez struck and killed a pedestrian while driving at night. According to the records, Nadine Menendez was not speeding at the time of the crash.
Kristie Cattafi, a reporter for The Bergen Record and NorthJersey.com, discusses the latest developments in the scandal.
