New Jersey is ramping up its community solar program, which is designed to bring solar projects to low- and middle-income areas. Residents who want clean energy will have an opportunity to get it regardless of whether they can afford solar panels or live in a building they don’t own.
Supporters say switching to clean energy will allow residents to save on their bills. Beyond that, community solar is a job creator, as students at Warren County Technical School found out.
