Residents displaced by Tropical Storm Ida are still trying to get back on their feet. Many have found that aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency only goes so far, and they have relied on community groups for additional financial help. Melanie Reyes, housing justice manager with the Ironbound Community Corporation, says a statewide fund that started a few months ago has already raised $0.5 million.

Statewide, FEMA has approved 44,008 individual assistance applications in New Jersey related to the storm, for a total of $224.4 million.
