Gov. Chris Christie held a town hall meeting in Westwood Wednesday where he started off with the news that Pascack Valley Hospital will reopen as HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley. The governor applauded Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd’s announcement. “It’s the right decision for the residents of the Pascack Valley and the Northern Valley,” Christie said. “It’s going to provide needed increases in access to healthcare for everybody in this community.”

Christie also talked about his proposed income tax cut and how his job creation plan has been successful. The governor took an hour of questions from the public as he does in every town hall meeting, with a variety of topics. One resident asked about lowering the reservoir levels in the area to reduce flooding, another talked about school vouchers hurting Catholic schools and a third asked about what the Division of Developmentally Disabled would be doing for individuals who graduate from the education system.
