New, highly anticipated guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics takes a strong stance on mask wearing by children. On Monday, the academy recommended that all children over the age of two wear masks when they return to school this fall — whether or not they’re vaccinated against COVID-19. Dr. Jeanne Craft, president of the New Jersey American Academy of Pediatrics, discusses the recommendation.
On Tuesday, Gov. Phil Murphy said his administration will stick with leaving it up to individual school districts to decide, but reserves the right to change his mind.
