The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is strengthening its recommendation on COVID-19 booster shots, saying all U.S. adults should get a booster, following the emergence of the new omicron coronavirus variant. This shift comes as the Pfizer drug company says it will seek approval for a booster shot of its COVID-19 vaccine for 16- and 17-year-olds. If approved, it would become the first booster available to those under age 18. There’s still little data on how well current vaccines and boosters protect against the omicron variant.
