Dozens of cannabis supporters attended the Cannabis Regulatory Commission’s first in-person meeting Thursday, anxious to hear the commission’s update on the status of applications by businesses looking to enter the market for adult-use recreational marijuana.
The CRC approved the first 18 annual licenses. It also approved 297 conditional licenses, with social equity applicants given priority. The CRC is also working with the state Department of Treasury to fund a cannabis training academy that will provide free educational courses and technical assistance to people looking to start their career in the industry.
