Candidates in the Democratic primary for New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District were pressed to respond to the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas during an online forum Tuesday evening. The forum was taking place as media outlets were reporting on the shooting, and the candidates took the opportunity to express how they would take on the gun lobby in Congress.
The three Democrats vying to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Albio Sires are Ane Roseborough-Eberhard, David Ocampo Grajales and Robert Menendez, son of the senior New Jersey senator. The forum on Facebook was hosted by a Hudson County group called The Knitty Gritty.
