Campbell’s, the Camden-based food giant, announced it will remove all artificial food dyes from both food and beverages by August 2026. Some of the affected brands include V8 Splash, Stella D’oro cookies and Lance crackers.
The Campbell’s Company says it already uses natural dyes in the majority of its products.
Goldfish crackers, for example, have used colors sourced from plants for about 15 years. The manufacturer pointed to the fact that people are increasingly looking for healthier options with simpler, recognizable ingredients.
Other companies like Kraft, General Mills and Nestle made similar pledges under pressure from the White House and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. In April, Kennedy announced plans to eliminate eight synthetic dyes from the U.S. food supply by the end of 2026.
Campbell’s says any of its products that contain synthetic dyes will be moved off the shelves as inventory clears.
