Casino workers in Atlantic City will vote Wednesday on whether to authorize union leadership to call a strike. The casinos’ contracts with Unite HERE Local 54 expired on May 31 and the sides have been holding talks. The union is demanding higher wages, saying that while the industry’s gaming revenues and profits have surpassed pre-pandemic levels, wages have not kept pace.

Recreational marijuana sales will begin this week at three more dispensaries. Garden State Dispensary locations in Woodbridge, Eatontown and Union Township will start selling marijuana on Wednesday, according to its parent company. The Garden State Dispensary locations bring the total number of medical marijuana dispensaries selling recreational cannabis to 16.

In Newark on Monday, basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal joined Mayor Ras Baraka, Gov. Phil Murphy and others for a topping-off ceremony for 777 McCarter, a new 33-story, 370-unit apartment building. It’s the largest mixed-income project in New Jersey.
