Across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, a feeling of brotherly love is sweeping through two small South Jersey towns, as brothers Vince and John Giovannitti will soon lead the neighboring communities of Greenwich Township and Paulsboro.
Vince recently won re-election as mayor in Greenwich, more commonly called Gibbstown, while John will be sworn into his first term in Paulsboro this week. The two are the youngest of seven children in a family with a long history in public service.
The two brothers are Gloucester County lifers who are embracing the chance to lead their towns together and tackle their communities’ everyday challenges, like keeping their shared Delaware Street paved or coordinating in their flood control.
