NJ Spotlight News’ Washington, D.C. correspondent Benjamin J. Hulac spoke with correspondent Raven Santana on Friday and parsed President Biden’s rough couple of weeks, culminating in his uneven press conference on Thursday evening at the NATO summit in Washington, D.C.

Biden tried again to make the case that he is the best candidate to take on former President Donald Trump in the November general election. The summit is aimed at showcasing the president’s leadership on a world stage and the president is insisting he has to “finish the job” he started.

But it wasn’t his leadership that made headlines, it was the multiple times he rambled and misspoke, at one point even calling Vice President Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump,” and saying he followed the advice of his “commander in chief” — his own title — about military aid to Ukraine.

The flubs are leaving some Democratic lawmakers, donors and even celebrities to call for him to step aside. Hulac discussed the continued fallout from the president’s public appearances and the growing discord among Democrats on Capitol Hill.
