After seeing FBI reports of 27 active shooters killing 85 people last year in the United States, officials in Belleville are preparing for what they hope will never happen with an active shooter drill in their municipal building.

Belleville Mayor Michael Melham says it became the first town in the state to hold the drill in its municipal building. It’s sharing its training model with other towns in the state.
