Late Wednesday, the state attorney general’s office released the names of the Paterson police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Najee Seabrooks, a 31-year-old violence intervention specialist.
According to authorities, two officers assigned to the department’s emergency response team, Jose Hernandez and Anzore Tsay, fired their weapons and fatally struck Seabrooks, who had been barricaded inside his apartment last Friday afternoon during an hours-long standoff with police.
Three other officers who responded to the incident used “less lethal force” which, according to the attorney general’s office, delayed the release of the officers’ names, citing alleged threats made to those involved.
