The union representing about 2,500 Rutgers University administrative staff rallied Wednesday in the streets of Newark and New Brunswick, fighting for an agreement on contract negotiations which have been ongoing for a year. Three other unions recently reached tentative contract agreements with the university. The Union of Rutgers Administrators and others have not. Their members voted on a strike pledge which is a step lower than authorizing a strike.

As thousands of faculty and medical worker unions did last month, the administrative workers say they’re seeking better pay and job security among other changes.
