500 vaccinated at new FEMA site during soft launch, 6,000 expected this week

Some worry the site could get swamped by frustrated folks from outside Essex County.

In Newark, a low vaccine rate still persists, while cases are once again on the rise. Monday, a new site opened in partnership with FEMA that could help boost vaccines in the city, providing tens of thousands of doses a week. But some are concerned the shots may not end up in the arms of those who need them most.
