The NJ PBS digital documentary series “21” examines a simple question: Does where you live in the state affect how you live? The “21” series profiles one person in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties and looks at the social determinants that affect that person’s life.

The latest and final episode profiles the life story and work of Kashinda Marche, a Rahway resident. As a new mom, Marche faced a life-altering HIV diagnosis. She shifted her mindset, battled mental health struggles, and discovered her authentic self. This fueled her mission to combat stigma and ignite a passion for community outreach in her hometown. She founded ‘Kreative on Purpose,’ an outreach program that aims to empower others through affirmations and self-belief.

“I owe it to the next person that may be living in such a dark place,” Marche said. ” I owe it to them to be an example that no, you are worthy. You are enough. You are beautiful. You deserve love and you can be better. ”
