Passaic County swung to the Republican party in the 2024 presidential election, even as GOP victory margins dropped in five other counties compared to the 2021 gubernatorial campaign.

In this year’s gubernatorial election, Democrats have won or are leading in five counties that voted for Donald Trump in 2024 — retaking Passaic County, winning Cumberland and Gloucester counties in South Jersey and likely also winning Atlantic and Morris counties.
