New Jersey is expected to be short more than 24,000 registered nurses by 2036, a 25% rate that is fourth highest in the nation, according to the National Center for Health Workforce Analysis’s recent report.
The highest rate will be in Georgia, where it is expected to be 29% short by 2036, according to the report. The national shortage will be about 10%, or more than 330,000 registered nurses.
