In our ongoing tracking of the numbers this week, New Jersey voters continue to cast their ballots early, with 1,170,977 votes cast either by mail or in-person as of the end of Tuesday. That’s about one in six registered voters in the state.
On Tuesday alone, more than 125,000 came to the polls for in-person voting, bringing that statewide total over 500,000 and closing in on the vote-by-mail total of 663,000.
Overall, more than 579,000 of early voters have been registered Democrats, a quarter of all the party’s registered voters in New Jersey. So far, there have been 328,573 Republicans’ ballots cast early.
