Inflation news made national headlines last week, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on Thursday that the annual rate of inflation cooled in June to 3%, an optimistic sign for the economy. But it appears much of New Jersey is a little bit of outlier, as the annual inflation rate in the New York-Newark-Jersey City region rose to 4.2% in June, while dropping slightly to 3.6% in the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington region.
