New Jersey’s influential association of CPAs regularly asks its members their impressions of the state’s business climate, often a source of debate and contention. The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants’ latest survey, released Wednesday, found some expected results, especially concerning ongoing worries about inflation.
But one other result jumped out. When asked what are the state’s biggest challenges, of the more than 500 CPAs who were surveyed, 57% listed inflation first, but 53% cited “political dysfunction in Trenton.” Other worries surfaced, including the difficult labor market, but the state of the State House clearly is making a mark.
