Deaths from COVID-19 in NJ, January – May 2024

Public health leaders in New Jersey caution that while COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations are at near-record lows — due in part to improved treatments and greater immunity — it does not mean people can ignore the disease. The number of COVID-19-related deaths in New Jersey from January through May, as recorded by state health officials, was 349. This included 12 “probable” related deaths.
