The Bureau of Energy Ocean Management last week released a Final Environmental Impact Statement on what would be New Jersey’s first offshore wind farm — the Atlantic Shores South Project. BOEM is expected to give its final approval for the project within weeks. The project must still be approved by other federal and state agencies.
The planned wind farm would span more than 100,000 acres and be 8.7 miles from Long Beach Island at its closest point to the shore.
