Some 150 New Jersey businesses have already signed up for the state’s new LGBTQ+ business designation, according to the Department of the Treasury, which oversees the certification process.

The designation, said to be the first by a state in the nation, gives companies that have at least a 51% LGBTQ+ ownership certain financial benefits, such as new government contracting opportunities.
