Upgrades to boardwalks, those iconic Jersey Shore attractions, are underway in many Jersey Shore communities.

Asbury Park is getting $20 million for new decking, railings, benches and restroom upgrades, as well as the rehabilitation of Convention Hall. Atlantic City is also getting $20 million, to repair and replace its boardwalk with storm-resilient hardwood, among other improvements.

Eighteen Shore towns are getting a total of $100 million, provided by the American Rescue Plan Act, which was the nearly $2 trillion COVID-19 recovery and stimulus package signed by President Joe Biden in 2021.
